network segment
Note:
RIP can be enabled on an interface only after it has been enabled globally.
RIP operates on the interface of a network segment only when it is enabled on the
interface. When RIP is disabled on an interface, it does not operate on the interface,
that is, it neither receives/sends routes on the interface nor forwards its interface
route. Therefore, after RIP is enabled globally, you must also specify its operating
network segments to enable it on the corresponding interfaces.
The network 0.0.0.0 command is used to enable RIP on all interfaces.
