management sessions, users are authenticated through local user database.
Syntax Description

Usage Guidelines
RADIUS or TACACS servers are used only if they are enabled. When RADIUS or TACACS is not
enabled, authentication is performed locally even if the
configure auth mgmt-access local
command is not used.
Use this command to authenticate all the management sessions using the local users database. Network
login sessions can be configured for RADIUS authentication independently of the management session
authentication method. TACACS authentication cannot be used with network login.
The following types of management sessions can be configured:
• Telnet
• SSH
• Console
• HTTP
If local authentication is configured for management sessions, users are authenticated through the local
user database even if RADIUS or TACACS is enabled and servers are configured.
Example
The following command sequence configures RADIUS authentication for network login sessions and
local authentication for management sessions:
enable radius
enable tacacs
configure radius primary server 10.1.2.254 1812 client-ip 10.1.2.1
