Description
Using the rip authentication-mode simple command, you can configure RIP-2
authentication
authentication-mode command, you can cancel the authentication performed on
RIP-2.
By default, interface does not authenticate packets.
RIP-1 does not support authentication. There are two main RIP Version 2
authentication packets: simple authentication and M5 authentication.
Example
# Set simple authentication at Serial0, and the password is aaa.
[3Com-Serial0] rip version 2
[3Com-Serial0] rip authentication-mode simple aaa

Description
Using the rip input command, you can allow receiving the RIP packets at the
interface. Using the undo rip input command, you can disable the function (reject
receiving the RIP packets at the interface).
By default, any RIP packet at the interface can be received.
This command is used in collaboration with rip output and rip work. rip work is
functionally equivalent to rip input and rip output, which control the input and output
of the RIP packets at the interface. That is, the first command is equal to the sum of
the latter two commands.
