3Com Command Reference Guide — V1.00
Description
Using the local-user service-type command, you can configure the user
authentication and authorization service type. Using the undo local-user
service-type command, you can cancel the setting.
By default, authorized user can use PPP.
This command can be used together with the local-user password command.
When single service is authorized to the user, it is necessary to configure only one
parameter of exec-administrator, exec-guest, exec-operator, ftp, or ppp after
service-type. When multiple services are authorized to user, it is necessary to
configure over two types of parameters, other than to use this command repeatedly.
Because the new service type will overwrite the old one, instead of stacking the
service type.
For related commands, see local-user password, aaa authentication-scheme
login, aaa authentication-scheme ppp.

# Enable administrator (username: 3Com, password: corporate) to log on the router
