Chapter 2 LAN Interface Configuration
The LAN interface that is supported by the operating system is an Ethernet interface.
Therefore, the basic configuration commands for the LAN interface refer to those for
the Ethernet interface.

2.1 Ethernet Interface Configuration Commands

2.1.1 duplex

duplex { negotiation | full | half }

negotiation: Set the Ethernet interface to work in the auto-negotiation mode.
full: Set the Ethernet interface to work in the full-duplex mode.
half: Set the Ethernet interface to work in the half-duplex mode.
Description
Using the duplex command, you can configure the mode in which 100Base-TX fast
Ethernet interface works. Using the undo duplex command, you can restore the
default mode in which the Ethernet interface works.
By default, the operating mode is duplex negotiation.
When the Ethernet interface of a router is connected with a hub, it should work in the
half duplex mode. However, when it is connected with the network equipment
supporting full duplex mode such as LAN Switch and when the opposite equipment is
set to full duplex mode, it should work in the full duplex mode.
