6.1.2 cir

Syntax
cir rate-limit
undo cir
View
Frame Relay class view
Parameter
rate-limit: The minimum CIR, in the range from 1000 to 45000000 bps. By default,
rate-limit is 56000 bps.
Description
Using the cir command, you can configure the minimum CIR of a Frame Relay PVC.
Using the undo cir command, you can restore the minimum CIR of a Frame Relay PVC
to the default value.
The minimum CIR is the lowest transmit rate that a PVC can provide. It ensures that the
users can still transmit data at this rate in the case of network congestion.
When the congestion occurs to the network, DCE will send the packet with the BECN
flag bit being 1 to DTE. Upon receiving this packet, DTE will eventually lower the
transmit rate of the PVC from CIR ALLOW to minimum CIR. If no packet whose BECN
flag bit is 1 is received any longer within 2 seconds, it will gradually restore the transmit
rate of the PVC to CIR ALLOW.
Note:
When configuring this command, the minimum CIR should not be greater than the CIR ALLOW.
For related commands, see cbs, ebs, cir allow.
Example
# Set the minimum CIR of class to 32000 bps.
[3Com-fr-class-frts]cir 32000
