Parameter
interface-type: Interface type
interface-number: Interface number
acl-number: Standard IP access table number, ranging from 1 to 99. This number
defines a group range, which is the service range of the announced RP.
priority: Priority of candidate RP, ranging from 0 to 255. RP with higher priority will
be the final RP. If the values of priorities are the same, the router with bigger IP
address will be the final RP. The default value is 0.
Description
Using the c-rp command, you can configure an interface as candidate RP. Using
the undo c-rp command, you can cancel an interface as candidate RP.
By default, If the command is implemented without group-policy, this indicates
the candidate RP will serve the whole group.
In PIM-SM protocol, RPT (RP Path Tree) created by the route multicast data takes
RP (Rendezvous Point) as root and group members as leaves. RP is elected
through BSR. After election, all C-RPs regularly send C-RP
Advertisements) to BSR. After RP is elected by BSR, it will issue RP information
to the whole network (Multiple RPs might co-exist, which may have different
group service ranges.). Thus, all routers can get RP information.
When configuring candidate RP, the range of group, which RP serves for, can be
specified. It can serve not only all multicast groups but also some of them.
Usually, only one C-BSR and one C-RP are configured on the network, which
often use the same router. The router shall be located at the core position of the
network or be well connected with the other routers. One router can be configured
