Parameter
string: Key string of MD5 algorithm specified on an interface.
Description
Using the rip authentication-mode md5 key-string command you can configure
RIP-2 authentication in the md5 encryption mode. Using the undo rip
authentication-mode command, you can cancel the authentication performed on
RIP-2.
By default, the interface does not authenticate packets.
RIP does not support authentication, while RIP-2 supports. RIP-2 has two authentication
modes: plaintext authentication and MD5 authentication.
