Description
Using the pim dm command, you can enable PIM-DM protocol. Using the no pim
dm command you can disable PIM-DM protocol.
By default, the system disables PIM-DM protocol.
Before starting PIM-DM, multicast route protocol multicast routing-enable must
be firstly enabled.
Example
# Start PIM DM protocol on the Ethernet.
[3Com] multicast routing-enable
[3Com-Ethernet0] pim dm

Description
Using the pim sm command, you can enable the PIM Sparse protocol. Using the
undo pim sm command, you can disable the PIM-SM protocol.
By default, the interface disables PIM-SM protocol.
PIM-SM protocol shall be configured on various interfaces respectively. It is
recommended that PIM-SM protocol be enabled on each interface in non-special
case.
