Parameter
mac-address: The MAC address of the computer to be bound, in the format
XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX.
ethernet: The type of the MAC address is Ethernet. If this parameter is not entered,
the default MAC address format is adopted (that is, Ethernet format).
Description
Using the static-bind mac-address command, you can configure the statically
binding MAC address. Using the undo static-bind mac-address command, you can
cancel the statically binding MAC address.
By default, there is no binding MAC address.
As for some given clients, it is necessary to bind the fixed IP addresses, that is, to
bind a certain MAC address with a certain IP address. When the client with this MAC
address applies for a DHCP address, the DHCP server will allocate this fixed IP
address to this client.
When configuring the binding, it can be regarded that this binding is a special DHCP
address pool. The static-bind mac-address command must be used along with the
static-bind ip-address command in pair.
For related commands, see dhcp server ip-pool, static-bind ip-address.
Example
# Bind the client PC whose MAC address is 00-00-e0-3f-03-05 with the IP address
10.1.1.1, and the mask is 255.255.255.0.
[Quidway-dhcp0] static-bind ip-address 10.1.1.1 mask 255.255.255.0
[Quidway-dhcp0] static-bind mac-address 0000.e03f.0305
