spanning-tree port type network default
To configure all ports as spanning tree network ports by default, use the spanning-tree port type
network default command. To restore all ports to normal spanning tree ports by default, use the no form
of this command.

This command has no arguments or keywords.

Usage Guidelines
Use this command to automatically configure all interfaces that are connected to switches as spanning
tree network ports by default. You can then use the
specified ports that are connected to hosts as spanning-tree edge ports.
Note
If you mistakenly configure ports connected to hosts as Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) network ports and
Bridge Assurance is enabled, those ports will automatically move into the blocking state.
Configure only the ports that connect to other switches as network ports because the Bridge Assurance
feature causes network ports that are connected to hosts to move into the spanning tree blocking state.
You can identify individual interfaces as network ports by using the
command.
The default spanning tree port type is normal.
Examples
This example shows how to globally configure all ports connected to switches as spanning tree network
ports:
switch(config)# spanning-tree port type network default
