Replacing Components of the Analyzer

To replace the ion guide clamp:

1. Shut down your system by following the steps in
on
page
149.
2. Remove the analyzer tray from the instrument by following the instructions in
"Removing the Analyzer Tray from the ISQ 7000 Instrument"
3. Remove the wire connecting the quadrupole entrance lens to the source interface board
by unscrewing the terminal with a slotted screwdriver.
4. Remove two screws on each side of the quadrupole rod endcaps.

5. Remove the entire quadrupole, as well as the ion guide, from the analyzer tray.
6. Slide the rods and exit quadrupole endcap off the ion guide and entrance endcap.
