10. Center the manifold door so that the screw holes are aligned with the manifold. And
insert the four manifold screws, tightening each finger-tight such that the o-ring is
engaged on every surface.
11. Tighten the four manifold screws using a T20 Torxhead screwdriver.
12. Tighten the vent valve knob completely by turning it approximately one turn clockwise.
13. Close the front door of the instrument.
14. For optimal performance, wait at least fifteen minutes for the ion source to heat up to the
same temperature as the inside of the instrument. Otherwise, the masses or intensities
may be different.
