Possible Remedies
Make sure the Remote Start cable is properly connected to the Autosampler signals port on the GC and the GC port on the autosampler
controller.
Confirm the GC handshaking parameter is set properly:
1. Go to the Handshaking menu.
On a TRACE GC Ultra, continue to step 2 below.
On a FOCUS GC, use the Keypad button in the instrument status tab
• Press the Home button.
• Scroll down to the <others> option and press <ENTER>.
• Scroll down to <Configuration> and press <ENTER>.
2. Press <CONFIG> to access the Configure menu options.
3. Press the down arrow key until Handshaking displays and then press <ENTER> to access the Config Handshaking menu options.
4. Press the down arrow key until Inhibit ready in displays and then press <ENTER> to access the Inhibit Ready menu options.
5. Set the Inhibit Ready parameter. The default setting is When High. If your GC will still not become ready, try setting the parameter to
<When Low> or <Do Not Inhibit>. If you are using a TRACE 1300/1310 GC, set the handshaking parameters as follows:
Remote Start In: High to Low
Inhibit Ready In: When High
End of Run Out: High to Low
Start of Run Out: High to Low
GC Ready Out: When Low
Prep Run Out: When Low
