3. After the software has located the configuration of the LAN CPU, right-click on the IP
address for the LAN CPU and select Configure.
4. Click the Operating Mode tab, check the Modify checkbox, and click Settings.
5. In the Operating Mode window, enter 30,000 ms for the Inactivity Timeout, then click
OK.
6. Click OK to send the new settings to the LAN CPU. You will receive a confirmation
message noting, Configuration is applied ok. Click OK and close the Network Enabler
tool.
7. Click OK again to upload these settings to the LAN adapter.
8. When the settings have been uploaded successfully, you can close the utility and proceed
to the Instrument Configuration process for the TRACE GC Ultra.
To configure NPort Search Utility
1. Open the NPort Search Utility by selecting Start | All Programs | NPort Search Utility
and locate NPort Search Utility.
2. Right-click on NPort Search Utility and select Run as Administrator from the options
(Windows 7).
3. Confirm the User Account Control message so NPort Search can make changes to the
computer (Windows 7).
4. The NPort Search Utility will open.
5. Select Search from the tool bar. This will allow the utility to search for IP connections. A
search window will appear.
6. After completing the search, the NPort Search Utility will return with a list of LAN
connections. Select the device corresponding to the TRACE GC Ultra and double-click
on it to bring up the console.
7. Select Serial Settings and confirm that the baud rate is set to 38400. Change as applicable
and click Submit to save.
8. Select Operating Settings and set the inactivity time to 30,000 ms. Click Submit to save,
then close the console.
9. Select Exit to close the NPort Search Utility.
