19. Connect DLC terminal No. 7 to body ground with a
jumper wire.

20. Check for continuity between body ground and
these connector terminals:
SRS unit A (39P)
VSA modulator-control unit
36P
TPMS control unit 20P
Immobilizer-keyless control
unit 7P
Audio unit 24P
Driver's under-dash fuse/
relay box (Q) (20P)
Is there continuity between the DLC terminal and
each of the terminals in the chart?
YES
with the HDS.
NO

Replace the part that does not communicate
Repair open in the wire between the DLC
21. Check for B-CAN system DTCs without the HDS
(see page 22-125).
Is DT C U0029 and/ or U0100 indicated?
YES

NO

22. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
23. Disconnect the HDS from the DLC.
24. Measure voltage between DLC terminal No. 16 and
body ground.

Is there battery voltage?

YES
NO
−
No. 16 and the No. 15 BACK UP (10 A) fuse in the
under-hood fuse/relay box.
Go to step 34.
Go to step 22.
