nested family A family that consists of instances of other families (subcomponents). The subcomponents
can belong to the same category (for example, various window types) or different categories (for example,
an exterior door and two lighting fixtures). You create nested families using the Family Editor.
The following nested family includes a door, 2 sidelights, and 2 lighting fixtures.
