In Revit Architecture, you can use an element s centerline to measure, dimension, align, resize, specify
constraints, and perform other functions in a building model.
Measuring from the centerlines of walls
central file A master project file for a model on which multiple team members are working. The model can
be subdivided into functional areas (worksets), such as interior, exterior, and site. The central file stores the
current ownership information for all elements in the project, and acts as the distribution point for publishing
work to the rest of the team. All users work in local copies of the file and periodically save changes to the
central file so that other users can see their work.

chain A linked set of lines or walls. When drawing walls or lines in a building model, you can simplify the
process by drawing a chain. You can also select a chain of lines or walls to manipulate them simultaneously.
clean To resolve joins between 2 or more host elements that share a common face, such as walls and floors.
When a view shows a coarse level of detail, Revit Architecture removes visible lines between the elements.
When a view shows a fine level of detail, Revit Architecture shows precisely how the layers of compound
walls or other structures join together. The cleaned join applies only to the current view.
