surface pattern The graphic design (fill pattern) used to represent a surface when shown in projection. See

sustainable design The art of planning physical objects so they can be created and maintained in a way
that supports the longevity of natural ecosystems and reserves. It ranges from designing small objects for
everyday use to designing buildings, cities, and the physical surface of the earth.
Revit Architecture provides predefined families of model elements that promote sustainable design, including
water tanks, solar panels, and wind-powered generators. See Loading Families on page 352.
swatch A sample patch of a color or pattern.
When you apply a color scheme to rooms, the floor plan can display a color scheme legend, which indicates
the colors and what they represent. The color scheme legend includes color swatches.
