INSPECTION PROCEDURE 30
EGR valve (stepper motor) system
The engine-ECU controls the EGR valve (stepper motor) in order to control the
amount of exhaust gas mixed in the intake air.
Check the EGR valve. (Refer to GROUP
17 – Emission Control System.)

Measure at the EGR valve connector
A-62.
Disconnect the connector, and
measure at the harness side.
Voltage between 2, 5 and earth
(Ignition switch: ON)
OK: System voltage
OK
Measure at the engine-ECU connector
B-29.
Disconnect the connector, and
measure at the harness side.
Voltage between 31, 32, 39, 40
and earth (Ignition switch: ON)
OK: System voltage
OK
Check the following connector:
B-29
OK
Check the trouble symptoms.
