TROUBLESHOOTING

INSPECTION CHART FOR TROUBLE SYMPTOMS
Trouble symptom
Speedometer does not work.
Tachometer does not work.
Fuel gauge does not operate.
Engine coolant temperature gauge does not operate.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE FOR TROUBLE SYMPTOMS
Inspection Procedure 1
Speedometer does not work.
The cause may be a defective vehicle speed sensor circuit system or a defective
speedometer. Vehicle speed sensor is co-used among the engine-ECU and A/T-ECU.
Disconnect the combination meter con-
nectors B-01 and measure at the har-
ness sides.
(1) Measure
the
voltage
between
terminal No.38 and body earth when
the vehicle is moved forwards and
backwards.
OK: 4.7 V or more
(2) Voltage between the terminal No.49
and body earth
OK: System voltage
(3) Continuity between the terminal
No.37 and body earth
OK: Continuity
OK
Replace the speedometer.

Check the following connectors:
B-78, B-80, B-01
Check trouble symptom.
