Inhibitor switch system
The cause is probably a malfunction of the inhibitor switch circuit, ignition switch
circuit or a defective engine-A/T-ECU or A/T-ECU.
Inhibitor switch check (Refer
P.23-48.)*
OK
Check the voltage of the inhibitor switch
connector A-89.
D Disconnect the connector
measure at the harness side.
D Voltage between terminal No. 8 and
earth
OK: System voltage
OK
Check the following connectors:
<4G6-MPI> A-89, B-110
<4G6-GDI> A-89, B-10
OK
Harness check
D Between inhibitor switch
engine-A/T-ECU or A/T-ECU con-
nector
OK
Check the trouble symptoms.

Dual pressure switch system
The cause is probably a defective dual pressure switch circuit or a defective
engine-A/T-ECU or A/T-ECU.
Dual pressure switch check (Refer to
GROUP 55 - On-vehicle service.)*
OK
Check the voltage of the engine-
A/T-ECU connector B-111 or A/T-ECU
connector B-12.
D Disconnect the connector and
check at the harness side.
D Ignition switch: ON
D A/C switch: ON
D Voltage between terminal No. 83 and
earth <4G6-MPI>
D Voltage between terminal No. 10
and earth <4G6-GDI>
OK: System voltage
NG
Replace the engine-A/T-ECU
A/T-ECU.
