INSPECTION PROCEDURE 32
Power steering fluid pressure switch system
The presence or absence of power steering load is input to the engine-ECU <M/T>
or engine-A/T-ECU <A/T>.
The engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-A/T-ECU <A/T> controls the idle speed control
(ISC) servo based on this input.
Check the power steering fluid pressure switch.
(Refer to GROUP 37A - On-vehicle Service.)

Measure at the power steering fluid pressure switch connector

D Disconnect the connector, and measure at the harness side.
D Voltage between 1 and earth (Ignition switch: ON)
OK: System voltage

Check
the
following
connector: A-96

Check trouble symptom.

Replace the engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-A/T-ECU <A/T>.

A/C switch and A/C relay system
When an A/C ON signal is input to the engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-A/T-ECU <A/T>,
the engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-A/T-ECU <A/T> carries out control of the idle speed
control (ISC) servo, and also operates the A/C compressor magnetic clutch.
Check the A/C compressor relay.
(Refer to GROUP 55 - On-vehicle Service.)
Measure at the engine-ECU connector B-53, B-54 <M/T> or
the engine-A/T-ECU connector B-111, B-113 <A/T>.
D Disconnect the connector, and measure at the harness side.
D Voltage between 22 <M/T>, 20 <A/T> and earth, and 45 <M/T>,
83 <A/T> and earth
(Ignition switch: ON)
OK: 0 - 3 V (A/C switch: OFF)
System voltage (A/C switch: ON)
D Short circuit between 22 <M/T>, 20 <A/T> and earth
(Ignition switch: ON, A/C switch: ON)
OK: A/C compressor clutch turns on.
