Accelerator pedal position switch system
The accelerator pedal position switch detects that the accelerator pedal is fully closed,
and sends a signal to the engine-ECU. The engine-ECU judges if the accelerator
pedal position sensor is faulty, based on this signal.
Check the accelerator pedal position switch. (Refer to P.13A-107.)
Measure at accelerator pedal position sensor (1st channel) connec-
tor A-84.
Disconnect the connector, and measure at the harness side.
Voltage between terminal 4 and earth
(Ignition switch: ON)
OK: 4 V or more
Continuity between terminal 1 and earth
OK: Continuity
Check the following connector: A-84
Check trouble symptom.

Probable cause
Maladjustment of the accelerator cable
Maladjustment of the accelerator pedal position switch
Open circuit or short-circuited harness wire in the
accelerator pedal position switch system, or poor
connector contact
Malfunction of the engine-ECU

Replace the accelerator pedal position sensor assembly.

Check the following connector: B-30, B-31
OK
Check trouble symptom.

Check the harness wire between the engine-ECU and accelerator
pedal position sensor (1st channel).
