INSPECTION PROCEDURE 5
No initial combustion (starting impossible)
This is caused by incorrect fuel supply into the combustion chamber, and improper
ignition circuit. Besides that, foreign material may be contaminated in fuel.
Check system voltage while the engine is cranking.
OK: 8 V or more

Does the camshaft rotate when the engine is cranking?

07 Fuel pump (low pressure) (Refer to P.13A-80.)

14 Throttle position sensor (2nd channel) (Refer to P.13A-75.)
Inspect engine start ability by cranking the engine while the accelera-
tor pedal is slightly depressed.
Check fuel leakage. (Refer to P.13A-102.)
Measure low fuel pressure between the fuel pump (low pressure)
and fuel pump (high pressure). (Refer to P.13A-98.)
Measure at ignition coil connectors A-85, A-86, A-89, A-91.
Connect the connector.
Connect a timing light to the No.1 terminal of each connector
in turn.
(Engine cranking)
OK: The timing light flashes.
Check ignition timing while the engine is cranking.
OK: Approx. 5_ BTDC
