INSPECTION PROCEDURE FOR TROUBLE SYMPTOMS
Inspection Procedure 1
When the ignition key is turned to "ON" (engine stopped),
the brake warning lamp does not illuminate.
The cause may be an open circuit in the lamp power supply circuit, a blown lamp,
a malfunction of the brake warning lamp relay or an open circuit between the brake
warning lamp and earth.
Disconnect the ABS-ECU connector A-54.
D Ignition switch ON
OK: The brake warning lamp illuminates.
Does the brake warning lamp illuminate when the parking brake
lever is pulled?
Measure at the brake warning lamp relay connector A-104.
D Disconnect the connector and measure at the harness side.
D Ignition switch ON
D Connect terminal (5) to body earth.
OK: The brake warning lamp illuminates.
Check the brake warning lamp relay. (Refer to P.35B-8.)
Measure at the brake warning lamp relay connector A-104.
D Disconnect the connector and measure at the harness side.
D Continuity between terminal (2) and body earth
OK: Continuity
Check the harness, and repair if necessary.
D Between brake warning lamp relay and ABS-ECU

Check for a blown bulb.

Check the following connector: B-02, B-01, B-91, B-89

Check trouble symptom.

Check the harness
D Between ignition switch (IG1) and combination meter
NG
Replace the combination meter.
NG
Check the following connector: A-104, B-14 <LHD>, B-15 <RHD>
OK
Check trouble symptom.

Check the harnessm, and repair if necessary.
D Between combination meter and brake warning lamp relay
Replace the brake warning lamp relay.
