SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) AND SEAT BELT WITH
PRE-TENSIONER CONSTRUCTIONS
The SRS consists of four air bag modules, SRS
air bag control unit (SRS-ECU), side impact sensors,
SRS warning lamp and clock spring. The air bags
are located in the centre of the steering wheel, above
the glove box, and built into the front seat back
assemblies. Each air bag has a folded air bag and
an inflator unit. The SRS-ECU under the floor
console monitors the system and has a safing G
sensor and an analog G sensor. The side impact
sensor inside the center pillar monitors any shocks
coming from the side of the vehicle. The warning
lamp on the instrument panel indicates the
operational status of the SRS. The clock spring
is installed in the steering column.

the SRS or the seat belt with pre-tensioner
inoperative).
