Caution
Do not apply the vehicle weight to the wheel bearing while
loosening the drive shaft nut. Otherwise wheel bearing
will be damaged. If, however, the vehicle weight must
be applied to the bearing (because of moving the vehicle),
temporarily secure the wheel bearing by using the special
tool.
INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS
AA DRIVE SHAFT R.H./SPRING PIN INSTALLATION
1. Install the drive shaft to the hub and the transmission.
When installing the drive shaft to the transmission, apply
multipurpose grease to the transmission-side spline and
make sure that the spring pin hole at the end of the drive

the shaft at the transmission side. If the spring pin hole
is slightly off-line, turn the drive shaft 180_ and then install
it again.
NOTE
Because there are an odd number of splines on the drive
shaft, the pin hole will be off-line by half the width of the
hole if the drive shaft is turned 180_.
2. Apply specified sealant to the spring pin and then insert
it into the drive shaft. After inserting the pin, apply sealant
to both ends of the pin hole to fully seal the hole.
Specified sealant:
