REASSEMBLY SERVICE POINT
"AA THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS)
INSTALLATION
1. Place the throttle position sensor against the throttle body
as shown by the dotted line in illustration.
2. Turn the throttle position sensor to the position shown
in the illustration, and then tighten the screw.
3. Connect a multimeter between terminal (1) (TPS power
supply) and terminal (2) (TPS output) of the TPS
connector, and check that the resistance increases
gradually as the throttle valve is opened slowly to the
fully-open position.
4. Check the continuity between terminal (3) (idle position
switch) and terminal (4) (earth) of the TPS connector
when the throttle valve is fully closed and fully open.
Earth
Normal condition:
Throttle valve condition
Fully closed
Fully open
If there is no continuity when the throttle valve is fully
closed, turn the TPS body anti-clockwise and then check
again.
5. If there is an abnormality, replace the TPS.
Continuity
Continuity
No continuity
