4.3.2 Outer Take-up Drive (Nip) Assembly

Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver
Remove:
1. Unload the media and turn the system off.
2. Open the top cover.
3. Remove the top and middle front panels. See Section 4.2.1, Right/Left Side
Covers.
4. Remove the take-up light shield. See Section 4.3.1, Take-up Light Shield.
5. Remove the foam on either side of the outer take-up (nip) drive.
6. Disconnect the nip solenoid connector. Refer to Figure 4-8.
7. Disconnect the cutter interlock switch cable. Refer to Figure 4-8.
8. While holding the nip assembly with one hand, use a flathead screwdriver
to loosen the four (4) screws on the front of the assembly. Refer to
Figure 4-8.
9. Remove the assembly from the system.
