REFINISHING A REPLACEMENT DETACHABLE
BODY PANEL
E Dip Panels
Sand the surface of the replacement or repaired
panel with 400 grit wet or 360 grit dry paper, or
scuff with a 3M Scotch pad.
Clean the surface area with a wax and grease
remover solution (e. g., Ditzler DX-300 or Sik-
kens M-600)
NOTE: If the panel was repaired and large areas
of bare metal are exposed, apply a wash primer
(e.g., Sikkens Washfiller 580). The wash
primers have excellent adhesion and corrosion
resistant qualities when compared to conven-
tional lacquer primers.
Sand the primed panels with 400-500 grit wet or
dry sandpaper and prepare the surface for top
