Air Cleaner - Honda Transalp XL700V Manual

Major adjustment is made with the lower adjuster.
Loosen the lock nut, turn the adjuster as required.
Tighten the lock nut while holding the adjuster.
Recheck the throttle operation.

AIR CLEANER

• The viscous paper element type air cleaner can
not be cleaned because the element contains a
dust adhesive.
• If the motorcycle is used in unusually wet or
dusty areas, more frequent inspections are
required.
Lift and support the fuel tank (page 3-5).
Remove the screws and air cleaner housing cover.
Remove the air cleaner element from the air cleaner
housing.
Replace the element in accordance with the mainte-
nance schedule or any time it is excessively dirty or
damaged.
Make sure the O-ring and gaskets are in good condi-
tion, replace it if necessary.
Install the removed parts in the reverse order of
removal.
TORQUE:
Air cleaner housing cover screw:
1.2 N·m (0.1 kgf·m, 0.9 lbf·ft)
