Install the stem nut onto the stem to prevent the
threads from being damaged while removing the
lower bearing inner race.
Remove the lower bearing inner race with a chisel
or equivalent tool, being careful not to damage the
stem.
Remove the dust seal.
Apply specified grease to a new dust seal lip (page
1-18).
Install a new dust seal onto the steering stem.
Press a new lower bearing inner race using the spe-
cial tool and hydraulic press.
TOOL:
Inner driver, 28 mm I.D.
Drive in a new upper and lower bearing outer races
into the steering head pipe using the special tools.
