Check the primary drive gear for wear or damage.
INSTALLATION
Install the primary drive gear on the crankshaft.
• Install the primary drive gear, aligning its wide
groove with the wide tooth of the crankshaft.
• Install the primary drive gear with its "OUT" mark
facing out.
Install the CKP sensor rotor, aligning its wide
groove with the wide tooth of the crankshaft.
Temporarily install the clutch outer guide, oil pump
drive sprocket and clutch outer onto the mainshaft
(page 10-16).
Apply engine oil to the primary drive gear bolt
threads and seating surface.
Install the washer and primary drive gear bolt.
Hold the primary drive gear using the special tool.
TOOL:
Gear holder, 2.5
Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 88 N·m (9.0 kgf·m, 65 lbf·ft)
Remove the gear holder and temporarily installed
parts.
