FRONT WHEEL/SUSPENSION/STEERING
Retighten the top thread to the specified torque.
TOOL:
Lock nut wrench
TORQUE: 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m, 3.6 lbf·ft)
Install the top bridge, washer and stem nut.
Install the fork legs into the steering stem and top
bridges (page 13-29).
Tighten the stem nut to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 103 N·m (10.5 kgf·m, 76 lbf·ft)
Turn the steering stem left and right, lock-to-lock
several times to make sure the steering stem moves
smoothly, without play or binding.
Install the brake hose clamp and tighten the bolts
XL700VA only:
securely.
Install the brake hose joints and tighten the bolts
securely.
