Install the snap ring into the groove in the master
cylinder using a special tool.
TOOL:
Snap ring pliers
• Install the snap ring with the chamfered edges
facing the thrust load side.
• Check that the snap ring is seated in the groove.
Apply silicone grease to the boot inner surface.
Install the boot into the master cylinder and the pis-
ton groove.
Apply brake fluid to a new O-ring and install it onto
the reservoir hose joint.
Install the reservoir hose joint into the master cylin-
der.
Apply a locking agent to the reservoir hose joint
screw threads.
Install and tighten the screw to the threads.
TORQUE: 1.5 N·m (0.2 kgf·m, 1.1 lbf·ft)
If the push rod is disassembled, adjust the push rod
length as shown.
After adjustment, tighten the lock nut to the speci-
fied torque.
TORQUE: 18 N·m (1.8 kgf·m, 13 lbf·ft)
