MIL 19 BLINKS (CKP SENSOR)
• Before starting the inspection, check for loose or
poor contact on the CKP sensor 2P (Red) connec-
tor and ECM 33P connectors, then recheck the
MIL blinking.
1. CKP Sensor Peak Voltage Inspection at ECM
Connect the ECM test harness to the ECM con-
nectors (page 5-16).
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch " ".
Crank the engine with the starter motor, and
measure the CKP sensor peak voltage.
Connection: B22 (+) – A32 (–)
TOOL:
Imrie diagnosis tester (model 625) or
Peak voltage adaptor
with commercially available digital multimeter
(impedance 10 MΩ/DCV minimum)
Is the voltage more than 0.7 V (20 ° C/68 ° F)?
YES
– Intermittent failure
NO
– GO TO STEP 2.
2. CKP Sensor Peak Voltage Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the CKP sensor 2P (Red) connector.
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch " ".
Crank the engine with the starter motor, and
measure the CKP sensor peak voltage.
Connection: Yellow (+) – White/yellow (–)
Is the voltage more than 0.7 V (20 ° C/68 ° F)?
YES
– • Open circuit in White/yellow wire
• Open or short circuit in Yellow wire
NO
– Faulty CKP sensor
