Using the Calibration/Correction Factors

This section provides the information on how to set frequency-specific calibration
factors and to use sensor calibration tables.

Setting frequency-specific calibration factors

If you are making most of your measurements at a single frequency, or in a narrow
range of frequencies, entering a specific calibration factor is a more effective
method than using a sensor calibration table. Only a minimal amount of data
entry is required.
Use the [SENSe[1]:]CORRection:CFACtor|GAIN[1][:INPut]
[:MAGNitude]? query to check the current calibration factor setting. Verify that
the value returned matches the calibration factor of the sensor listed in the
calibration factor table on the sensor body.
A gain correction value for the calibration factor can be entered using the
[SENSe[1]:]CORRection:CFACtor|GAIN[1][:INPut][:MAGNitude]
<numeric_value> command. The N432A corrects every measurement by this
factor to compensate for the gain. A gain correction of 1% to 150% can be
specified.
For details, refer to
"[SENSe[1]:]CORRection:CFACtor|GAIN[1][:INPut][:MAGNitude] <numeric_value>"
on page 354.

Using sensor calibration tables

If you are making measurements on a wide range of signal frequencies, using a
sensor calibration table is more effective than entering an individual calibration
factor, as you only need to enter the frequency of the signal you are measuring.
The N432A automatically selects and applies the calibration factor from the
selected table.
The N432A is capable of storing 20 sensor calibration tables, each containing up
to 80 frequency points. The N432A is supplied with a set of two predefined sensor
calibration tables plus a "100%" default table.
