3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS TEST

1. TCCU detects the transfer case systems malfunctions

and indicates malfunctioning part(s) through flickering

of the "4WD CHECK" indicator.

Connect Scan-I to the diagnostic connector located

under the steering wheel.

2. The transfer case system is malfunctioning when:

1) The "4WD CHECK" indicator remains on after 0.6

second when turning the ignition switch ON.

2) The "4WD CHECK" indicator continuously comes on

during driving.

3. Connect Scan-I to the diagnostic connector and read

the defective code with the ignition switch "ON" (refer

to Diagnosis Table).

4. After repairing, erase the defective code stored in TCCU.

• Before replacing the malfunction parts with defective

code, check the wires and connectors for looseness.
