To modify an RS module port mirroring instance, first disable the instance. Also, to change a
port, VLAN, or MLT entry, first remove whichever parameter is attached to the entry and then
add the required entry. For example, if an entry has mirroring ports already assigned, remove
the ports using the remove mirroring-ports command, and then assign a VLAN to the
entry using the add mirroring-vlan command.

8800 modules

The 8800 series modules provide the same functionality as their RS module equivalents. The
8800 modules however, use the enhanced network processor — the RSP 2.7. R and RS
modules continue to be supported and you can install a mix of R, RS and 8800 modules in the
same chassis.
Important:
Support for 8800 series I/O modules starts with release 7.1. Support for the 8812XL,
however, starts with release 7.1.3. These modules are not backwards compatible with older
Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600 releases.

The 8692SF/CPU with the supermezz or the 8895SF/CPU are the supported switch fabric
modules in a chassis that contains 8800 series modules.
Important:
Ensure that you run software release 7.1 or later for the 8800 series modules to operate
properly. The 8812XL however, requires at minimum, software release 7.1.3 to operate
properly.
All 8800 series modules support jumbo frames. The 8800 series modules are not compatible
with the 8001AC and 8002DC power supplies. You must use either the 8004 or 8005 type
power supplies in a chassis that contains 8800 series modules. For proper system cooling,
8800 series modules require high-speed cooling modules.
The 8800 series modules can interoperate with R and RS modules. Ensure that there is enough
power available for all modules in the chassis (including redundancy requirements), using the
