Variable
Enables the sending of syslog messages on the
switch.
Specifies the IP header in syslog packets to default,
circuitless-ipor management-virtual-ip.
Specifies the maximum number of syslog hosts
supported.
enabled hosts allowed (1 to 10).
Variable
Creates a syslog host instance.
Configures a host location for the syslog host.

syslog host.
Specifies the UNIX facility used in messages to the
syslog host.
local3|local4|local5|local6|local7}
is the UNIX system syslog host facility (LOCAL0 to
LOCAL7).
Enables the syslog host.

Value
• If set to default, then for syslog packets that are
transmitted in-band via input/output (I/O) ports, the IP
address of the VLAN is used. For syslog packets that
are transmitted out-of-band through the management
port, the physical IP address of the Master CPU is
used in the IP header.
• If set to management-virtual-ip, then for syslog
packets that are transmitted out-of-band only through
the management port, the virtual management IP
address of the switch is used in the IP header.
• If set to circuitless-ip, then for all syslog messages
(in-band or out-of-band), the circuitless IP address is
used in the IP header. If a user has configured
multiple CLIPs, the first CLIP configured is used.
