(a)
Slowly
open the
high pressure hand
valve to adjust
the
refrigerant
flow.
Do
not
open
valve very
much.
CAUTION:
If
refrigerant
is allowed to ascopo too
fast,
compr.,_

il
will

drawn
out
of the
system.
(b) Check the
shop
towel
to make
sure no
oil is being
discharged.
If oil is p.-.t
partially close the hand
valve.

Afte< the manifold gauge reading
drops
below 3.5

valve.

NOTE:
Whenever
the air
conditioning
system has been
exposed
to the
at~
e.
it must
be
evacuated.
After installation
of
a component, the system should be
evacuated for eppro,.;imatelv
15
minutes.
A
component
in
service that
has been opened
for
repair
should be
evae.Jated
for
30
minutes.

Connect the manifold gauge set.

Install
the center hose of -
set
on the vacuum
pump
inlet.

Run
the
vOC\lum
pump, and
then
open both
hood
valves.

After
about ten minutH, d>eck that
the
low pretsure
gauge
reads more thon 600
mmHg

is
not more

vacuum pump.
Check
the system for
leaks and
repair as

evacuoting

15 minutes.

Close

Disconnect

hose
from the vacuum

system

now ready for
