If the rod is bent or twil1ed, replace the connecting rod.

Measure the oil clura nce between tha rod busl11 ng

piston

• Using an inside dial indicator. measure the lnalde
diameter of the rod bushing.
• Using a micrometer, measure the diameter of t he
piston pin .
• Check that t ho d ifference between the
measure~
menta lo leu th an t he oil clearance limit.

the clearane, e Is great er than maximum, replace the rod
busing .
REPLACEMENT OF ROD BUSHING
1.
REMOVE ROD BUSHING
2.
Using SST, remove the rod bushing from t he connec ting
rod.
SST 09222·30010
INSTAU NEW ROD BUSHING
Using SST, install the rod bushing
to
the connecting rod.
SST 0 9222· 3001 0
NOTE: Align the bus/11ng oil hole
w ith the
connecting rod
oil hole.
