INSPECT TERMINAL ECT VOLTAGE
1. Inspect the throttle posi tion sensor system.
(a) Tum the ignition sw~ch to ON. Do not start the
engine.
(b) Connect a voltmeter to the DG terminal and
bod!
ground.
(c) While slowly depressing the accelerator pedal.

that DG terminel voltage rises in s.equence.
If the voltage is in proportion to the throttle opening anglt
and does not change, there is a malfunction with the throt·
tie position sensor

Inspect brake signal.
lal Depress the accelerator pedal to where OG termiNI
indicates

(bl Depress the brake pedal and check the voltage read-
ing for DG terminal.
Brake pedal deprened ... OV
Brake pedal roleeood ...... SV
If
not as
indicated, there is a malfunction with either the
stop light sw itch or circuit .
3. Inspect each up shift position.

Warm up the engine.
Coolant tempereture: 80° C 1176° F)
Turn the OD switch ON .
Place the panern select switch in "'Normal" and the
shift selector In " 0 " range.
