REMOVE OUTER CLUTCH PACK RETAINING SNAP RING
FROM DRUM
REMOVE CLUTCH FLANGE, DISCS AND PLATES
COMPRESS PISTON RETURN SPRINGS AND REMOVE
SNAP RING
Piece SST on the spring retainer end compress the springs
with a shop press.
Using a screwdriver. remove the snap ring.

4 . REMOVE SPRING RETAINER. SNAP RING AND EIGHTEEN
RETURN SPRINGS
5 . ASSEM BLE REAR CLUTCH ON CENTER SUPPORT AND
BLOW OUT PISTON
(at Slide rear clutch onto the center support.
(b) Apply compressed eir to center support to remove tho
piston .
(If
the piston does not come out, use pliers
to remove
lt.)
(C) Remove the front clutch from the center support.
6 . REMOVE 0 -RINGS FROM REAR CLUTCH PISTON
INSPECTION OF REAR CLUTCH

Air 1. INSPECT REAR CLUTCH PISTON
(e) Check that check bell is free by shaking each piston.
(b) Check that tho volvo Is not leaking by applying low·
pressure com prossed air.
