2 . REMOVE FLYWHEEL OR DRIVE PLATE AND REAR END
PLATE

INSTALL ENGINE STANO FOR DISASSEMBLY

REMOVE CYLINO£R HEAD ASSEMBLY
1r Cal Disconnect the No. 1 water by1)UI hose from lhe
w ater by-pass pipe.
(bl Oiseonnec11he PCV hose from lhe cylinder block.
(c) Remove 1he timing belt. !See pages EM-11 to 13)
(d) Remove the No. 2 timing belt cover.
lei Remo ve the air Intake chamber stay.
If)
Using SST. remove lhe cylinder h eed bolts.
SST 09043-38 100
lgl Remove the cylinder head assembly.

REMOVE Oil A LTER
Using SST. remove the oil filter.

REMOVE OIL LEVEL GAUGE
7 .
REMOVE ALTERNATOR
8.
REMOVE FUEL FILTER
9.
REMOVE FUEL HOSE SUPPORT
10. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE
taJ Remove the two nuts from the t iming belt case.
lbl Remove the three bolts from the cylinder block and
remove the water by·pua pipe with gasket.
11 . REMOVE OIL PAN
