INSPECTION OF IGNITION COIL
1 . DISCONNECT HIGH-TENSION CORD
2 . MEASURE COIL RESISTANCE
lal Disconnect Ignition coli connectors.
lbl Measure primary coli resistance.
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance betwoon
the positive (

(brown side) and negative 1-llblack
sidet
terminals.
Primwy coil reaillance lcoldl: 0.4 - 0.5 0
lei Measure secondary coil resistance.
Using an ohmmeter. measure the resistance between
the positive

terminal (brown side

tension terminal.
Secondary col rulotance (cold): 8.5 - 1 1.5 kll

ON -VEHICLE INSPECTION OF DISTRIBUTOR

INSPECT DISTRIBUTOR CAP AHO ROTOR
(al Check for cracko, carbon tracks. burnt or CO<Toded ter·
minals.
lbl Check the distributor cent er contact for wear.
If
a
problem is f ound, roplece the component.
