ring slots aligned with the shifting keys.
20. INSTALL SPACER AND BEARING
lal Install tha spacer.
(bl Install the bearing with
the
ball shield toward the r .... .

(C) Using a hammer and socket wrench. drive in tN
bearing.
NOTE: When driving in the bearing. support the counltf·
shaft in front with o 3 - 5 lb. hammer or equivalent.
21 . INSTALL SNAP RING
Select a snap ring

22. INSTALL SPEEDOMETER DRIVE GEAR
Ia I Put a clip on the output shah and install the drive
gea
clip into the slot .
(bl Slide the drive gear with clip and fit the clip Into 1ho
holes.
23. INSTALL SHIFT FORKS, SHIFT FORK SHAFTS AND
REVERSE IDLER GEAR
lal Install the reverse idler gear and shah.
(b) Install No. 3 shift f ork, No. 3 fori< shaft and reveno
shift arm.
( 11 Coat the pin with MP grease and Insert It Into the
reverse shift head hole.
