7 . REMOVE CONVERTER HOUSING
{a) Remove the two I 2-mm bolts and four 1 0-mm
bolu.
{b) Hold the input shaft while removing the conven•
housing.
8 . REMOVE EXTENSION HOUSING AND GASKET

REMOVE SPEEDOMETER DRIVE GEAR
(al Remove the snap ring.
(b) Remove the drive gear and the steel ball .
10. REMOVE SENSOR ROTOR, KEY AND SNAP RING FROII
OUTPUT SHAFT
11. REMOVE PAN AND GASKET
(a) Remove the f ourteen bolt s.
(b) Remove the pan by lifting the transmission case.
NOTE: Do not tum me transmission over as this will
con-
taminate the valve body with foreign materials in the bot·
tom of the pan.
12. EXAMINE PARTICLES IN PAN
Remove the magnet and use it to collect any steel chips.
Look carefully at the chips and particles in the pan and on
the magnet to anticipate what type of wear you will find
in the transmission:
Steel (magnetic) • bearing. gear and clutch plate
w ear.
Brass {nonmagnetic) • bushing wear.
