Using a micrometer, measure the journal diameter.
Standercl journal caamete<:
Front 40.969 - 40.976 mm
(1 .8128 - 1.8132 in .l
Rear 32.969 - 32.976 mm
(1 .2978 - 1 .2982 in .l
lbl Usi ng a cylinder micrometer. measure the bearing
bore .
(c) Subtract the joumel dl•meter measurement from
t he
bearing bore mea1urement.
Stonderd oU cle...,ce: 0 .026 - 0.068 mm
(0.0010 - 0.0028 ln .l
Maximum oil ciHranca: 0 .08 mm (0.0031 ln.)
If the clearance is greater than maximum, replace

2 . If NECESSARY, REPLACE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING
Ia I Using SST. replace the No. 1 bearing, using the No.
2 bearing as a guide.
